Try using Dove deodorant, sometimes it helps to soothe the skin to help it repair damage faster. when I shave I use baby oil to lube the skin, it really helps if you aren't using old razors - keep in mind you should change the head after 3-4 leg shaves, those disposable shavers aren't good for anymore than that either!

As a guy/non swimmer....I don't shave my underarms for anything....I DO know alot about irritation from shaving other areas of my body, though. The person above was right.....soothe the skin. As for a type of razor...I am unsure...my best guess is that you want to use a sharp, good-quality razor....maybe a gillette or something. And not brand new, but not dull. Slightly broken in blades work best. And SOFTEN your skin first.....my worst problem area is my neck.....and if I don't soften first I'll have cuts and the red bumps. In soften I mean get a washcloth with warm/hot water and a moisturizer or cream, and apply for a minute before applying a shave cream. This is the most important step I've learned. Never attempt to shave at room-temperature. Maybe try the new shave gell from gillette. It seems to glide easier than most shaving creams, my favorite so far.

The bumps are normal. most people skin gets irritated from shaving. That's y a lot of women opt for waxing or hair removal creams.
If you skin is seriously sensitive I suggest you use a removal cream. Try avon , they have nice options for sensitive skin
If you want to go brave and wax, you can get it done professionally becuase for you to do your bikini line will be kinda hard. Trust me... some places you jus cant reach lol
Everyone else probably waxes... exspecailly their bikini lines because it lasts longer and doesnt irritate. I kno a couple swimmers and they all wax

Some people wax, the red dots are normal i believe. THey come right after shaving usually. Try some aloe vera or other skin cream to calm ur sensitive skin. Good luck! and u shouldnt have to shave for every meet, just the really really important ones.

the only way to look completely hair free is to wax. It hurts, but it's not as bad as a brazilian! I have sensitive skin, too, I have to wax.

There's a product on the market called "tend skin". It has worked for me as I experience this very same problem! You're not alone!
