I noticed many pinholes while getting ready to replace the liner

No, but pinheads asking pinhead questions like this are a good reason to doubt man's long-term chances of ultimate survival.

Not really, they can be patched, but it is a sign that the liner is getting old, and in need of replacing. So if you are ready to do that, it will make good sense to do so.

chh charlie is dumb, dnt listen to him. i dont know about the pinholes but i see them in alot of inground pools. i just think its there for no particular reason

no. i used to install inground pools and about one out of every five pools has pinholes in them. it is very common. you need not worry.... :)
