Howard Johnson was a good team player but Alex Rodriguez is a player who has a strong potential of being in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Howard Johnson is one of my all time favorite Mets. He had some fantastic seasons in the late 80's for them. But Alex Rodriguez is a sure fire Hall of Famer and on Pace to be one of the greatest ballplayers ever.

To be honest it is not even close ...and this froma yankee hating die hard Mets fan.

Howard Johnson was a very solid player, so I don't mean it badly against him when I say he doesn't come close to A-Rod. Not very many do. (And I'm a Yankee hater, but a great player is a great player).

I'm a huge Mets fan and I too loved HoJo when he played the hot corner at Shea. But as was stated earlier, A-Rod is a lock 1st ballot HOFer and may be one of the greats of all time.

Yes. Here's a little stat for you: before this season started, A-Rod had 429 homeruns through twelve years. Now let's say he plays twenty years. That means he's on pace for, ironically, 715 homeruns exactly. That's one more than Babe Ruth. Not bad, eh?

Yeah, Howard was ok, just not all the time. He stunk it up in Chicago (like everyone else)

If "crime.dog738" doesn't know who hojo is why is he answering this question? By the way, arod is better.
