I would wear blue or yellow or silver. Red might draw too much attention to you and you don't want to draw attention away from the bride. Wear shoes to match or compliment (either a lighter or darker shade of the dress) your dress.

An evening wedding usually calls for darker colors, although it isn't so necessary. Anything close to white isn't good, since the bride, I'm assuming, is wearing the same color. (After all, the bride IS supposed to stand out at a wedding. What type of wedding has everyone dressed in the same color as the bride?) Good colors for a evening wedding are Brown, Sage, Gold, Mocha, Cream, and Green. Pastel colors are also good, but too much of a mix of them can cause an undesirable clash. For shoes, all of the colors are pretty good together.

You shouldn't wear white and you shouldn't wear red to someone else's wedding. White is reserved for the bride only. Red is garish and can be considered an insult to the bride.
Choose any other color. Metallics are popular and so are shades of blue, lime, pink and yellow. Black is perfectly acceptible for an evening wedding reception. Another option is to wear a suitable dress for the ceremony and then change into something else for the reception which is more festive.

It all depends on your skin tone, hair color, body shape, wedding theme, indoor or outdoor (?), and other factors I can't remember. I think red (the darker, the better) is a terrific color which often gets overlooked. Black shoes or red shoes of the same tone your dress has would work. Again, give more details and you'll receive a much more detailed and useful answer.

Anything that doesn't outshine the bride or bridesmaids. I like to find out what the wedding colors are and choose something that is similar but not obvious. For example, if they're wearing salmon, I wear maybe a little floral, springy sundress. If they're wearing deep red, I might wear a jewel tone dress or a solid instead.

If you can find out what colors everything is going to be from the flowers linens to everyone dresses/tux's. That way you can not clash and still be very tasteful. Normally you wear pastels to a light shade wedding and darker colors if they are doing darker colors.

If I were you I'd wear a multi-colored dress, just because it's my style. I'd have ligh healed sandels as well. I'd try to stay away from brown and tan colors because they're kind of boring.. but it's up to you!! If you want to look fun and stylish go for a colorful dress. Maybe with flower print of something. Good luck!!
