When the time comes, it will happen. You don't teach a baby to crawl. It is a natural human instinct to navigate him/herself. It's not potty training.

You can't teach him those kinds of things. They have to develop those skills on their own. I would say that you shouldn't let your son lay down and drink his bottle. He'll be at higher risk of ear infections because the fluid can drip back into his inner ear from the throat from that position. If you want him to hold his own bottle, put him in his infant car seat so he's propped a bit. As far as holding the bottle sitting up, that's going to be a tough one for a baby because they are top heavy. If he tilts his head back with the bottle he's probably going to tip over just because his body can't balance with his head tipped over like that. Most babies crawl around 8 months, some sooner and some later. Just let your little guy go at his own pace. And don't rush him. Once they start moving they never stop. This is your last chance to sit. Enjoy it.

Hi, Sweetie, I have answered this question before. Your baby is still a baby. He shouldn't have to hold his own bottle. If he bottle feeds lying down he's way more prone to ear infections. Hold your little darlin' a little longer. You will remember this bonding time as long as you live. Don't be in such a hurry. As for crawling, don't worry about it. If he isn't crawling by 8 months, see his pediatrician. Please be patient. It will SO be worth it. Best of luck.

I guess teaching him how to hold the bottle sitting up may take a bit time. if he is hungry he himself with try to reach for the bottle even when he is sitting. you can teach him to crawl by keeping something interesting out of baby's reach... gradually ur baby will move towards it to grab it & soon will crawl. all the best.

there's really no way to teach him these things. has far as crawling goes what i did with my daughter is I'd put a toy just out of reach of her and let her reach for it. After awhile she started to crawl and now she's pulling herself up on things and and trying to walk. I hope that this helps you out. I have a 8 month old so I know how it is.

he'll learn on his own, by trying to teach him you'll be putting too much pressure on the baby to do something he may not be ready to do...

You can't teach him. He'll do it when he is ready, and if he wants to.
