I had a friend like that all throughout high school. Guess what? We're not friends anymore and WOW am I happy! Dump your friend, maybe then she'll get a clue.

Well honey, this girl doesn't sound like someone I'd call a best friend. I am 28 and have some dear best friends. They would never treat me this way. You need to distance yourself from unhealthy people like that. I really think you need to find a new best friend. I am sure you're very close to her and love her but sometimes you have to seperate the good ones from the bad ones. It's part of life. It takes time figuring out who your true friends are. Doesn't sound like she is. You don't deserve to be treated that way, ESPECIALLY from your "best" friend!! Good luck to you, I am sorry you're having to deal with this. Everything will work out!

This person is insecure. If you value the relationship, then don't take the comments and the actions seriously. If the Cons outweigh the Pros, then move on. Life is too short to have negativity when it is unnecessary.

Wow, you consider such a person your best friend? You should exercise better judgment in choosing friends in the future, unless you are glutton for emotional punishment.

that is weird. she is trying to make you feel weak. to monopolize you. hopefully she isn't also manipulating you!
tell her openly that you don't like it.
if she doesn't react, and doesn't change her approaches, withdraw yourself a bit from this relationship. wait and see what happens. how much of a friend is she?

Who needs them. Forget about them. You'll probably make a better friend in no time.

A friend is not someone who is always trying to make you feel bad about yourself....who you described is someone who envies you

I'd distance myself from her and eventually just stop hanging out with her alltogether.
