The general rule for Yahoo Answers is: If you ask a question you lose 5 points. Perhaps you meant to ask, do people just answer the questions just to get points? To that question I would say some do and some don't. I personally don't care if I get points or not. I just like to help people out as much as I can. But that is just me, many people wouldn't agree with me on this matter.
If your answer is chosen the best answer, then you will receive 10 points. For each question you answer that isn't voted on yet for the best answer you get 2 points. Every time you visit Yahoo Answers you get 1 point. That is how the points go in Yahoo Answers. I hope I was of help to you! Have a great day!

No, users lose 5 Pt's. per question asked. And users do answer anything just to earn points. I have received fuch off for an answer 4 times! To answer a question, just click on answer.

We ask questions because we want to know everything about you and everyone else. We are all voyeurs, or didn't you know that.

Oh that heart thumping thud when you get a best answer.
Still sends shivers up and down my spine.
Come to think of it, there is no more thud....hmmmmm
about the same time I stopped caring about points.
