When you're in love...

Love is LARGELY a product of 'Time'. To the average teen, days feel like weeks, weeks feel like months, and months feel like years. Teen 'impulsiveness' is the cause for this distorted view of time. Because of this common distortion, the vast majority of would be 'love-struck' teens see them selves as being 'in love' when, in fact, they are 'in lust.' So for teenagers, this mistaken idea of 'love' can come and go with the speed of a two-hour movie, from which the term 'fickle' has spawned. That is certainly NOT love.

As we get into our mid to upper 20's and even older, our perception of time becomes more and more accurate. As a result the older we get, the shorter the amount of time we need to make an 'accurate' assessment of whether or not we are in love. For example, a 45 year-old could probably make a much more accurate 'love' assessment after only 6 months in a relationship, than the average teenager could make after an entire year. This is not only due to differences in time perception ability, but ALSO due to good old-fashioned EXPERIENCE, which ONLY accumulates over years and years of passing time.

So, to sum it up, for a much truer and more reliable barometer to test your degree of 'love,' you should use 'time', but that time should be measured by a 'calendar' rather than a 'clock'. If you are under 25 years of age, and have been dating someone STEADY, for at LEAST a year (although 2 years would probably be more accurate), and after all of that time passing, you STILL feel as if you cannot live without that person by your side, then and ONLY then, can you TRULY call yourself in love. THAT becomes the correct time to tell the other person that you love them. If ONLY more people would use 'this rule of thumb' to measure love, you could rest assured the world's divorce-rate would plummet to an all-time low!

Ironic with your nickname...

So, may I ask when feel you should fold or up the ante? I am pretty sure it is the same way. Except you really can't bluff in this table.

Just when you think you've held the cards long enough, and you feel it is time to go "all-out" then by all means, do it. Just make sure you have a nice hand!

I think that you should say 'I LOVE YOU' when you find someone that means the worrld to you. When there is nothing in the world that would stop you from being with that person, when you feel it in your heart that the time is right and you have strong feelings for that person which is hard for you to understand.

When u REALLY mean it, u know, when it's not to receive something in return. Just say it because u mean it, and felt like saying it, without expecting some sort of reward.
