I tried Depo for about a year, I gained weight, and became depressed, the two most common side effects of Depo. There are so many other BPCs out there, just look into them all. I know Depo seems convenient, but really look into it before you try it.

I also had a bad time on depo. I gained a lot of weight and felt horrible. I didn't realize that the shot had effected me so strangely until I got off of it. About two months later I felt like a new person. It is harder to remember to take a pill every day, but considering the pill has been around for considerably longer than the shot, and we know the long term effects, it seems safer. I keep wondering if they will come out soon saying that depo is dangerous like they recently have with the patch.

I had the injection, every 3 months for a year, i lost weight, felt tired all the time, and i bled every day for almost the full year i was on it, hence the tiredness, it made me anemic, my doctor told me that it can stop your periods the whole time you're on it, or it goes the other way, where you bleed most of the time like i did.But everyone's different, what suits one person, may not suit another.

Depo is evil! I had never been over 100 pounds in my life and gained 30 pounds in 2 months! Everyone I know who has been on it has gained excessive amounts of weight. It's highly dangerous too, and they're considering taking it off the market. Please consider other options!

I wouldnt do it. I was on it for only 6 months and gained 45 pounds. You retain lots of fluid which makes you swell. I didnt like it at all. There are a lot of horrible cases out about this check into it before you do.

Effective, but not great for those women who suffer with PMT.
