eversince I started getting into the media and entertaiment, I've had this thought about being a performer or singing. I just want to know how YOU learned to sing and what make you so sure that your a good enough singer for an audience. About how long does it take to learn to sing well anyway...a year or two perhaps?

And is it just me , or can other people sing high notes like Mariah Carry....arn't they called the sopranos ( in music, silly).

i first started singing in the shower and then i learned how to sing in highschool in music theater. the shower is the best place to practice, dont try to sing for family and friends theyre biased, go to kaoroke night somewhere to get used to singing in front of people and then try open night at some clubs. record youself singing with music on a good system and listen to it. or go to a recording studio and record one song and see how it sounds put together professionally.

I have learned to sing by ear. see some people have a thing called perfect pitch ( like me) if you have perfect pitch then you proberbly can sing really well. performing for me started when I was 8 in my church musical. and yes other people can sing high notes but not me Im an alto.
