~~~~LISTEN TO ME~~~~
Complete your education.
Before you apply for a job, return to your attorney and request that he have your criminal record expunged. You must have completed your probation, payment of fines, and not have committed any more crimes~KEEP YOUR RECORD CLEAN~
Expunged records are withdrawn from public access, allowing courts to give deserving people a chance to rebuild their lives without the stigma of a criminal conviction. Almost every state allows expungement of records for juvenile convictions and for cases where an adult defendant was acquitted.
Your education will help with the completion of your expungment~it will show that you are deserving~~~Good luck!
You wont be able to get a student loan for the felony. Look do you know how many employers actually check the backgrounds of people? Not everyone.
Now get this, of the business people in England, 25% are American becasue they value an American degree. Get a degree and move to London they will not check a record there.
Look you have two choices, continue on your path and probably spend your life in jail (imagine you get one life in this world and you spend it getting raped by a big guy with tattoos...) or better yourself and get a degree. the ball is in your court and you can change, you just have to want it.
If I were an employer and i saw an application that listed "yes I committed a felony", then it gives the date of the crime. Next it shows a timeline for when you went to college. 4-6 years depending on degree obtained. I would hire a person like this because sometimes people need second chances.
All hope is not lost
College, or education for that matter, is never a waste of time.
You have a felony? Why not show your future employers how far you've gone to try and erase what happened and put it behind you. Having a degree is a sure-fire impressive length to start-over clean; if you ask me. Majority of employers know this, too.
Having a Felony period messes you up. Its very hard for you to find a job. The best thing you should do is, go to college and look into is getting your own business.
College is never a waste of time; however, your chances of getting a good job are seriously hurt buy your criminal record. Set your hopes high, stay on the right track, and keep a good attitude. God will provide.
no! imagine if you were going to hire someone would you rather hire a guy that just got out of jail and has no collage or a guy that got out of jail and tried to get better and went to collage.
It would also be a good idea if you did community service, so the new employers would see that you are deep down a good guy.Oh and another tip- when you go to an interview, cover up any tatoos, and dont aviod/lie about the fact that you went to jail. If he asks, just tell him and say you have learned from your past and your doing better. good luck!
well is getting any job a waste of time. You might be discriminated when going for employment but that is true with any jobl....course if you plan on continuing to rob businesses or people....then it might be a waste of time. But if you are trying to improve your life it is a great way to start....infact some former criminals make great lawyers. Dream big.
Honest answer would be that you study a security related subject. Most bailiffs, law enforcers are criminals who are invariably not bright enough to get work in any other industry. With your college education you will have an advantage over these people.
How could going to collage be a waste of time in any circumstance? I think the more you know the more you respect yourself, and that's never a waste.
The felony will not make it easy for you, but having a felony and NOT having an education will make it even harder.
Go for it, and good luch!
