Apologies to spiders lovers, but I am afraid they are just weird, freaky and repulsive, and the spiders are plain awful.

To avoid killing these rather useful, fly exterminating, wee beasties and not having to have them crawl in their octopod way around your domicile, try an electronic device for keeping them away. Whilst I am no expert on anti-arachnid technology, I believe that there is a gadget on the market, that will deter the many-legged hunters from your property by emitting a sub-sonic noise that makes them uncomfortable and unwelcome.

If you do not wish to spend money on preventing the focus of your phobia from invading your space, try a rolled up newspaper and show no mercy, spiders see mercy as a weakness as they have none themselves. Be aware however, that by destroying a spider, you are making your home a haven for disease ridden, **** vomitting, flies.

Spiders are the good guys - they eat lots of other wierd, freaky, and repulsive stuff that you have not seen yet.

A pest control service that provides outdoor services - not more than every other month should be adequate - will usually do the trick. You can spray the outside and inside yourself but the chemicals are kind of spendy and the attached sprayers leave alot to be desired.

If you by an over the counter spray keep in mind that there is no such thing as "spider spray". Most spray pesticides are basically the same - read the label of active ingredients. Shop price when using over the counter stuff and you'll do ok.

And of course squishing or glass -n- paper trapping work too.

Good Luck.

Depends on where you live, you can't get totally rid of them. If you live in an area where there are lizards, help make it a place for them, we moved into a house that was covered with spiders (by a lake) and we cleaned the house with DR. T's Web Eliminator, it doesn't kill but makes it so webs can not reattach so they move on. Lizards are naturally around the area, Texas, we made it more friendly for them and now we have lots of 2 different kinds and they keep the place clean, we don't spray or put out any poisons because they will kill the creatures that kill spiders. Mud Dobbers (Wasps) kill spiders also. I like you hate spiders, so does my wife. We do have to spray some inside (only). We are not spider free but, it is much better.

I have no idea why people are scared of spiders. They don't bite, they are peaceful, they kill annoying flies. I'd rather have 100 spiders here right now than one single wasp. Now wasps are weird, freaky and repulsive!

Best way is to get a plastic slide-trap thingy with a long handle.

Sometimes dogs will eat spiders. The best way to kill spiders is to use birds. But you can't really indoors!

I dont like squishing them either. I think if they didnt move so fast I wouldnt have such a problem with them.

I am a total animal lover and vegetarian and save-the-planet person, but I guess I am a bit hypocritical when it comes to spiders. I trap them under a glass or lid or something until they die and then I flush them.

Yessiree! I know this one! I actually spend 10 bucks on a can of Raid WASP AND FLYING INSECT KILLER! It shoots a stream up to 6 feet and yes, it kills spiders too! (Most of the time I just use the garden pest type).

Don't kill them!!1 Have you not heard of karma?

I am petrified of spiders, but I would rather scream & run a mile, before killing it. It's not right. Look how small they are compared to you!

Just open the top windows (if you can) to let air into your home.

If you kill 1 spider, 2 more will appear tomorrow!!!!

I know where you're coming from but spiders kill a lot of other horrible things. Don't kill them.
I know how you feel though - I'm the same with woodlice (slaters / damp beetles - whatever you call them). They are my second biggest fear. First are cockcoaches. Luckily we don't have them.

i know exactly what you. i have a screaming fit if i see one and they are roaming my house!!! my screaming attracts some one in the house who kills the spider with a tissue or whatever. try getting some sort of spray.

You don't have to kill them.
Drop a plastic jug over it, slide a piece of card underneath and chuck it outside.
