The ideal place to live is Honolulu Hawaii. The climate is a no brainer, the culture is very diverse ranging from primarily Asian to American cultures. There are a variety of religions on the island which make it unique aswell. The cost of living is the one draw back in hawaii. A gallon of Milk will run you 6.99 now and gas is over 3 bucks a gallon. Scenic offerings range from Ocean cruises to mountain excursions to modern night life! Honolulu is the most in shape city in the country and activities abound whether in the ocean or the mountains or just running down kalakaua ave. Honolulu is uniquely situated in the south pacific and has a population just over a million which is concentrated mostly on Oahu. However for a city the size of Honolulu you will find plenty of jobs and the streets are very clean. Honolulu is def my favorite place to be and if i could be there now i would be! I wrote something for someone else on hawaii b/4 and i'll clip in on here too just so you can see some other stuff! If you move there i would be so jealous!!!

Hawaii is definately worth it! I would def go to hawaii this summer or any time of the year. I just can't get enough of that place! I have been 6 times and I have found enough on Oahu to do that i haven't even ventured out to the other islands yet! Here are some things in Waikiki and around the island to do;Dukes is def cool and right on the beach, and if you want to dance with the youngsters you can head over to scruples. There are a ton of eating places down on the strip but the real hawaii is out of town. Take the bus or drive up to manoa and experience the rainforest and a natural waterfall! Take a trip to the north shore and go to waimaia valley and see some of the most spectacular fauna anywhere! If you adventurous hike along the ridges and see paradise from 4000 feet! I did that and loved every second of it..ok well it was more like 8 hours of it but anyway..lol. Diving and snorkeling are pretty awesome too! Hanuama bay is touristy and with good reason. You are guaranteed to see tons of fish and have a nice afternoon at a beautiful beach! Diving can be done just off shore and runs around 100 bucks for 2 tanks and you don't need to be experienced. Not far out of town you can jetski or parasail. Wouldn't really bother with the jetskiing cause they have too many rules in hawaii but the parasailing is something you should atleast try once. After that it gets kind of boring. In town the international market place is def cool and worth strolling through...a tip..go to all the kiosks and then go back and don't be affraid to barter..that's how it works there! On the weekend a really cool thing to do it go to aloha stadium for a huge flea market!!! I mean huge the tents go all around the stadium and everything you find for suviners in waikiki you will find there for way i mean way cheaper!! Oh one last thing, you have to go to a luau and the paradise cove luau is the best. oh crap...just thought of something else that will help you out. Go to Entertaiment.com and buy the book for hawaii and it will give you so many discount coupons it will pay for it self right away. I did and it worked great. Don't forget that part..really do it you won't be sorry. Many 2-1 coupons on dinners in waikiki which is really expensive.I have been to hawaii 6 times now and would love to live there. I hope you make it cause you won't forget it! Aloha!

As you can see from the majority of the other answers it is anywhere right here in the Tennessee River Valley. First of all its not an expensive place to live, TN has no state income tax, there are few natural disasters, Hurricanes don't reach us, we never have big earthquakes, the tornadoes are all out west of here, we've had one small forest fire here in the last forty years, it's lush and green in the summertime and we get very little snow in the winter. If you like urban life there are three cities to choose from, Nashville, Knoxville, or (my personal favorite) Chattanooga, or if you like it rural and secluded we have that too (in spades). On the down side the people around here are what we like to refer to as people of the earth... you know, bumpkins (not all of them just most) and they can be a little tedious sometimes when they want to ban science in our schools or post the Ten commandments in the courthouses and things of this nature, but hey you run into that all over the place these days. Come for a visit and see for yourself, this truly is the best place to live.

*stands up and starts clapping* Go Chris! Man, I love his answer. And I wish I could agree....and I do, in a way.

Honolulu is a great city...a great place...on a great island! BUT, *doesn't believe she is actually going to say this* not ideal. UGH! Did I really just type that? *heads hang in shame*

"Ideal" is in the mind. It is something 'made up'. A standard that is so high, it can't be beat. *thinks for another moment* I haven't met one place that would be my "ideal". I find goodness in every place I step foot....but none would be my model of perfection.

I guess in the Bible, Eden sounded nice. But,I would most likely eat off of some foresaken tree ...and we all know how that would turn out. *sighs* So, for now, Jersey will be my answer. *smacks herself on the cheek* Yes, the armpit of America is my final answer. Although far from ideal...it has everything I've grown accustom to. I love witnessing each of the 4 seasons. The leaves changing in Autumn, well, Hawaii can't give me that. And just when I grow tired of one season...another one comes along to take its place. And I am surrounded by farms and city-life is only a car ride away. The school system is spectacular for my daughter and life isn't so bad.

And I can always visit "paradise". But, once "paradise" becomes reality...it isn't "paradise" any more...it is just home and home is where the heart is.....although not ideal.

I'm trying to create such a place as a way to pay for the infrastructure of Renewable Energy. To bad the governments of Mexico and the US will not even answer my letters.

The only economic disaster for the investor greater than not making Renewable Energy economically viable is for there to be no replacement for fossil fuel. Without a replacement expect the economy of 1850 by 2050. The start of the change over has to start before the baby boomers retirement bill collides with the energy crisis. Without the change over already under way the economies of the 1st World will never recover.

The solution is hinted at in the documentary Cadillac Desert.

I guess I should acknowledge Senator Fienstein, she patted herself on the back for doing exactly what I said was inadequate to change the economics of Renewable Energy.

Home is where the heart is....always.

The climate is always perfect, despite the odd storm here and there.
The culture is the melding of two individuals from different cities/countries.
The crime rate would be nil: cause he is there to protect
The Cost of Living would be fantastic, because two can live as cheaply as one (so they say...)
Scenic Offerings: Ahem...don't think I need to go there.
Population: Past the exploding stage with no need to contribute in that area.

There you go.....smile

I have read the San Diego California is the best for climate. I'm sure there is beautiful scenic offerings. I'm not sure about the rest. I've never been there but I know someone who has and they loved it. The did say that it is expensive to live ther though but I guess you get what you pay for.

Athens, Greece, Europe. I 've left this Heaven some days ago but I 'm thinking of it everyday. I'm in Rome, Italy now. I think Athens is the best place to be or live in.

For me, Phoenix is in first place. It has: A warm climate (free from a high risk of natural disasters), a decent cost of living, a hockey team to root for (YES, that is one of the things I look for!), high speed internet, and it's far away from my overbearing mother.
