My friend is in this situation as well and it sucks. Her husband has decided they should wait until they've been married seven years and they haven't even been married three yet. I think it's rude and selfish of him myself because a baby would make her so happy and they could definitely afford it. She's praying, she's not poking holes in his condoms or anything, but she's not using birth control. I don't know if it's right to sabotage him in anyway. I know it hurts, my friend is sooo upset and I feel so bad for her. If you could tell him that it could take a year or more to get pregnant and then it takes almost a year to even have the baby and you showed him how much you wanted a baby, maybe he'd crack. It didn't work for my friend, but maybe it will for you. Tell him it's alright to be scared, but reassure him that things would be fine. Good luck!

I really wanted a baby, and my husband said it was the wrong time. He knew I was not on birth control. I got pregnant. We had issues. He ended up being abusive to me around the baby and leaving for hours on end. He blamed me, said I was selfish. We are now divorcing and I have my child. You both need to discuss the reasons that you want and he doesn't want to have a baby right now. See if you can agree on some things that you talk about. If he still says no, set up a time that you can discuss it again, like in 3-6 months. If he is just nervous, try to ease his fears, and remind him of the good points. Good luck!

No, it isn't right. That is something that both of you need to agree on. Also, it is something that should have been clarified when you starting to get serious or before marriage. You all won't be happy and think of the the environment the baby might be around. Your other half might resent you and/or the baby.

Its wrong on so many levels! Most importantly it isn't fair to the innocent child-think about it before trying to bring a baby into an ignorant world, especially if the parents are just as ignorant.

Are you stupid? When he says he is not ready .. did he explain why?? Financial reasons (cant afford a baby) maybe, because he feels that your'e both too young (ur profile says 22- you got plenty of time) or maybe cos your relationship is not solid enough to think of starting a family. You really ought to be discussing it with your partner, otherwise be prepared for him to walk.

Are you kidding me? Would it be right for him to say he thought your best friend was hot, and then sleep with her?

If you are trying to destroy the relationship, sure. If you are trying to bring a child into the world that will be the center of turmoil and tension, then sure.

IF you want to keep this guy, and IF you want your relationship to last, then for pete's sake, forget this idea.

GOOD LUCK! Do the right thing!

Of course it's not right and you know it. If you want one that bad, you should find another 'other half' orrrr, if you want to stick with him, you should wait until he's ready.

I too think it is wrong, because you are in a sense forcing your partner into something that he may not be ready for.

Yes, if he agrees to do it because he knows how important it is to you. But not if you do it by suberfuge. Lying is *not* a good way to begin a life.
