How much are you missing?

I'm too strict and read every single word, so not to miss anything. Skipping words, to me, is like not half listening to what one is saying to you and you misconcept what was said. I, personally, would feel offended, simply because I'm being assumed of being like everyone else. How can one tell if another reader is skipping words, unless one reads aloud? Just asking.

You are very right. I have to read a book about 3 or 4 times before I pick up on most of the details.

Not at all, I heard that once and wasn't sure but have since noticed that it's true. When I re-read sentances I notice I have sometimes substituted the wrong word. I guess I read what I thought it should say, but it does cause a problem if it effects the storyline!

no, because i know that it is true, i just cannot concentrate enough to read every single letter, sometimes i even skip the names of the characters, after seeing the first letter of their name i think that i know who they are talking about, however, sometimes i have to get back and reread it again for i missed the story, but to your question, no i won´t be insulted :)

No, I know I don't. My eye just skims over most of them, so I get the general idea of what I'm reading.

I wouldn't be insulted. Whether they know it or not, nobody reads every word.
