I think you should just put that option out in the open. You never know until you try. If he's a mature man it won't scare him away from being your friend. As long and you don't say you're madly inlove. Just say you want to try to move things more forward.

I would suggest that you ask him to do something little with you, that you haven't done before as friends. At some point, you might actually try the plain and simple truth method. It really works well. Just tell him that you feel that he is a great friend, and was wondering if he would be interested in trying to reach the next plateau in your relationship as a couple.

honestly, if he is like most guys.....you cant really beat around the bush. guys are not built that way, youll have to talk to him about it, just ease into it. he might be scared off, but if you want more than a friendship, theres no other way than to risk it or just forget it in whole. my situation was a little different, i chose someone else over him and then realized what an idiot i was, then we were friends and slowly i just started dropping hints but they werent working, but i was a little bold, i just told him what an idiot i was and that i loved him and he was a little shaken, but then he came around and told me he's always loved me but literally had to bite his tongue in saying it back. you just have to take your time and let him take his. i hope it works out for you hun, good luck!
