Many countries are British Commonwealth Countries, which mean the Queen of England is still their Monarch...Hence, she is on their currency

And because the Queen or the Royal Head of the British Empire is the actual /nominal head of the Commonwealth.There are nations which still consider the Queen as the head of their State.These nations are called the "Commonwealth Realms".The Queen Elizabeth II is portrayed as the "Head" of the Empire and thus, she is shown on the Currencies and Banknotes of the Commonwealth realms. Her royal shield is the coat-of-arms of the British Empire.

Because the British Empire used to rule the world. There are MANY countries which are/used to be part of the Empire, around the globe. In fact, the Queen is still the official head of state in countries like Canada and Australia and New Zealand, etc.

because they were part of the British empire and still hold many social, historical ties. The Queen is even still a figurative leader of many of the old part of the empire just like they are the figurative leader in the UK.

you see, in the Elizabeths 1 period, there were many british colonies (countries taken over by britain). that tradition of keeping the colonies was passed from generation to generation. now because of that many countries have Queens portrait.

*Sigh* I miss the old one and two dollar bills. They have been replaced with coins. (sorry, I just checked out your link and looked at our old money)(Canada)
England had so many Colonies etc...Most are still under her allegience (even if she is not really involved in government in those places). The old ones and twos sure were nice. Coins suck.

because they are or used to be a part of british empire, and i would suggest that it is thanks to HM queen victoria, and maybe because they just like the face of british queen, just like i do :)
