You should not get paid for doing this, unless your job requires you to sit around and wait until you have something to do. I know some people have jobs where they have nothing to do until the boss sends them some math, then they do the math and wait around. If you are getting paid to work, work. If you are getting paid to sit there, it's OK, so long as you're not violating any company policy.

Ya know, bosses like to see butts in seats. So answers is a way to type alot and look busy at your desk between tasks. It is better than reading at your desk or being up walking around all the time.

Your boss would probably consider it fraud and fire you. You are getting paid to be there and do your job, not use their equipment, their electricity, for something that is not at all job related. Not smart, not smart at all.
