I should say, neither.
You should not be afraid of death because it will only pose as a hindrance to the things you want to do in life. If you want to live your life to the fullest, live each day as if there is no death (there's nothing you can do to avoid death when your right time comes, anyway).
I'd say let us not take life as it comes. We are given brains and the ability to reason so we must make use of it. We also have our own free will, so that should be enough for us to get what we want and not just take whatever life gives to us and be satisfied and contented with it.

why are you so busy
with this or that or good or bad
pay attention to how things blend
why talk about all
the known and the unknown
see how the unknown merges into the known
why think seperately
of this life and the next
when one is born from the last
look at your heart and tongue
one feels but deaf and dumb
the other speaks in words and signs
look at water and fire
earth and wind
enemies and friends all at once
the wolf and the lamb
the lion and the deer
far away yet together
look at the unity of this
spring and winter
manifested in the equinox
you too must mingle my friends
since the earth and the sky
are mingled just for you and me
be like sugarcane
sweet yet silent
don't get mixed up with bitter words
my beloved grows
right out of my own heart
how much more union can there be
come on sweetheart
let's adore one another
before there is no more
of you and me
a mirror tells the truth
look at your grim face
brighten up and cast away
your bitter smile
a generous friend
gives life for a friend
let's rise above this
animalistic behavior
and be kind to one another
spite darkens friendships
why not cast away
malice from our heart
once you think of me
dead and gone
you will make up with me
you will miss me
you may even adore me
why be a worshiper of the dead
think of me as a goner
come and make up now
since you will come
and throw kisses
at my tombstone later
why not give them to me now
this is me
that same person
i may talk too much
but my heart is silence
what else can i do
i am condemned to live this life

You absolutely should not be afraid of death. If you live life's journey in a caring, unselfish manner and the world is a better place for your being here, then you've done well.

As a Christian, I am not at all afraid of death. Accepting Jesus as my savior was the best thing I've done to do away with that fear. I know that I am saved and I know that there is a place next to my Lord for me. So what's to fear?

I also have a great instruction book on how to live my life to the fullest by being unselfish and caring for all of God's children, not just the nice ones. I have an instruction book that tells me how to be a honorable wife to my husband and a successful mom to my four children.

When God calls me home, it will be because, as is promised in the Bible, my place in Heaven has been prepared and is ready for occupancy.

No you shouldn't be afraid because everyone has to at some point.

It's not death that scares people but what will happen there after. Some people believe, as I do, that there is a GOD and a Heaven.

Simply put, People are afraid of Hell! Not everybody but that is what they believe.

Back to the question, you should take life as it comes but be careful. We bring harm and danger to ourselves.

The only reason that you should fear death is if you don't know where you are going afterwards. If you are going to Heaven, then, when you die, you're going to a better place (not that you should live recklessly, but, should something happen, you have nothing to worry about). If you are going to Hell, dying is just the beginning of your problems, because no man can imagine how bad Hell actually is. The worst situation you could imagine hapening in this life does even compare. Now, there's a way to make sure that you go to Heaven: it's through Jesus. If you accept Him as your Lord and Savior, and recognize that He died to forgive your sins (and we have all sinned), then you are guaranteed a place in Heaven. Otherwise, you go to Hell. There's a little more to it than that, but that is the basic idea. If you have any questions, you can e-mail me at proofofpower@cox.net. Have a nice day.

Death is the completion of life. No matter where or how or when accept it as the totality of your life. Its the closing of the book. When you read a story and its good you do fear to reach the end, not because its the end of the book but the end of your enjoyment. But then-think! If the book had no end, however good it was you would get sick of it eventually. So death is the end we need to truly enjoy life. Be aware of death, accept it and live life.
"Death is the dark backing a mirror needs if we are to see anything of ourselves".

Since we ultimately have no choice, we should take it as it comes. Most people probably suffer more from their fear of the fear of death! Think about all the times in your life when the fear caused by anticipation of an event was much greater than anything actually caused by the event.

I'd say take life as it comes. Worrying about death takes away from the limited time you have on earth. Why would you wast your time on worrying about when it will end? but that's just my opinion.
