I don't think you'll find rates any cheaper than the Sea World website. At Sea World you can go in the pool with Beluga Whales and pet and feed them or you can go in a shark cage in the shark tank. I'm not sure how much the Beluga Whales tour costs, but I know the shark dive costs $150. If you want to go swimming with dolphins I suggest going to Discovery Cove. It's near Sea World and part of the same company. You can purchase a day-long package for $250 to $280. Meals are included and you get to swim with the dolphins. Also, you get access to the Coral Reef where you can swim with other exotic fish, Ray Lagoon where you pet and feed stingrays, Aviary where you can see and touch all kinds of exotic birds, and you can swim through the Tropical River and Resort Pool with waterfalls and other cool features. It's really cool. I think it's a good deal. And when you purchase tickets you get free tickets to Sea World, Busch Gardens or both. Busch Gardens is cool, but completely different from Sea World because it's theme is Africa. It has all kinds of great animal attractions, but it also has plenty of rides. Sea World only has a few. Busch Gardens has a great selection of roller coasters. I think you should do do both, as well as Discovery Cove. But it depends on what you can afford and it's up to you.

Check out the Discover Cove website... http://discoverycove.com/default2.aspx

Have fun! Hope this helps!

If you only want to go to to Sea World to swim with the animals, then I'd suggest paying up the extra cash and go to Discovery Cove, where you do actually swim with the animals, unlike Sea World. Everything Katlyn said about Discovery Cove is true except it does cost some extra money to be able to swim with the dolphins.
I personally prefer Busch Gardens over Sea World, because I love roller coasters, and BG has some of the best ones in FL. SW does have some wonderful shows, and probably better for the little ones. So depending on if you have little ones or you prefer shows over roller coasters should help on your choice of the park.
Tampa is about 45minutes -1.5 hours away from Orlando depending on how bad traffic is. And yes the trip is doable, I've done it thousands of times.

Just had out first trip to Sea World Orlando in May 06. We were disappointed. I've never been to Busch Gardens, but if I were staying in Tampa and only going to Orlando for Sea World, I would probably check out Busch Gardens instead.

you can buy the ticket for busch garden and sea world at the same time on either the busch garden or sea world website.... remember to buy them 7 days in advance.... i dont think you should travel to both park in the same day because there a lot to see in either theme park for a whole day.... but betwen tampa and orlando are about 1.5 hours away depend on traffic... also if oyu like water park you might think about a water park right next to busch garden i think it call adventure island....
