wax off of candle holder?

i just got a rod candle holder from my mother but wax had dripped off a candle all over the base. What is the easiest way to get it off without tryin to scrape it all of?

Put it in the freezer for a while. The wax will come right off.

Place the candle holder into the freezer for at least 8 hours, once the wax is frozen it should come off of the holder easily without scraping it and possilbly damaging the candle holder.

I have cleaned the hard wax off my candle holders by heating water in a pan and then dip the holder into the pan to soften up the wax.
