I've bought a job lot of antique brooches, some of which have some stones missing. I would like to know if there is anywhere (online or chain store) which sells tiny diamante or crystal stones of various sizes which would fill these gaps.
THey're only tiny - about 0.5-1.5mm diameter.

Old fashioned jewellers have a box of bits out the back of the shop, scrap gold, loose gems and broken bits. When they collect enough they sell it. if you put the word around they might have something suitable.

One problem with resetting using new stones is they will stand out from the others. Maybe you could used the stones from one brooch to fill in to the others. That way you won't be mixing old and new.
