You can install a temporary folding door, they fit most door frames and can be trimmed to size, they wont block much sound though, only a proper wooden door can do that

If you have a local company that makes or supplies doors to builders you may find they have damaged doors they would sell for a nominal amount. Working for a door company, I know only too well how easily a hollow-core masonite door is damaged.

Does the door need to be able to open and close? If it doesn't need to then any old sheet of plywood or MDF will work. If it needs to open and close then plywood or MDF will work but you have to attach two hinges and some sort of latch. MAybe if you ask the landlord, he might be willing to install a real door.
