Wow, so the most common reason for disliking where you live is directly related to popularity/vicinity of NASCAR and other forms of racing.
Personally, I'm not a NASCAR fan, nor is this a NASCAR thread, but given the fact that NASCAR is the fastest growing sport in America, one of the highest profit grossing sport/entertainment venues in America, and since NASCAR has been so widely used in multimedia marketing, I suppose there are people that do like it.
Given this information, if you live near or around a NASCAR track, the amount of money brought into your local economy for this 'redneck' sport is probably more than your local economy would like to lose.

For got the name but it was a small town just north of Charlotte NC.
Hubby went for a job interview there, some years ago. I went to scope the place out.
Over priced, rude, average person appeared to have an IQ smaller than their shoe size, and the treated Nascar as a religion.
They couldn't print enough money to pay me to live there!

Try living in Atlanta, Ga. I lived there for 35 years. High crime, noisy, You never speak to anyone, this can only create a problem. Talk about traffic, I couldn't even begin to tell you.

I hate NASCAR, its a dumb boring redneck "sport"

You win. Nothing hurts the mind and soul like Nascar, humidity and Jesus freaks.

Gee, if you don't like it, move.
Then again, I live next to one of the biggest hellholes on the planet in Gary, IN. You could always move there and then look back longingly on where you live now.
