I'd say it's around a 1/2 hour to get from Airdrie to Edinburgh Airport assuming there's no traffic. The route is simple -

- From Airdrie follow signs for the M8 and join the M8 to Edinburgh
- Leave the M8 at Junction 2 following the signs for the airport joining the M9
- Leave the M9 at the first exit (only a few hundred yards) and turn right at the roundabout.
- Follow the dual carriageway until you reach the airport - simple!

There are roadworks on the M8 right now both ways so I'd allow longer - depending on the time of day I'd say around an hour or longer.
