This is not a good forum to place forecasts because the posts can stay here a long time and it is best if you don't update them. So I won't do that, but mention that the current forecast from the Tropical Prediction Center has it tracking N-NE as a tropical storm over NW Florida during the PM hours of Monday - which generally agrees with recent GFS model forecasts (probably the best NCEP operational model for tropical cyclones). Heaviest rains are likely to be in moist southerly flow on the east side of the Low (over Florida if it tracks as currently expected).
The average date for the first tropical storm during the past 40 years is July 6. Of the 10 which occurred within a week of this one (if it does), 5 of them formed in a similar location and tracked northward as this is expected to - 3 of them becoming hurricanes:

So though it is an early start to the season, it is a common area of formation and expected track if a storm does form this time of year.
I chose the past 40 years because that is a sufficiently large sample to discuss and it is this period that satellites have generally been helpful to detect these storms over the oceans.

It's depressed but, not highly depressed. Left untreated the depression could get worse but, the depression might go away on its own.
So lets not do a lot of specualation that, the depression, will get worse.
If you come up with a way to treat this depression, patent it, you will be wealthy. Be careful, your soulition might cause younger depression to end their own existance.

wow.. another early start to the season. I expect it to become Alberto, make landfall in Florida with winds of 60 mph, and produce torrential rains in Florida and Georgia.

What's to think about it? It will either develop into a Hurricane or it will peter out.
