Well in the end, being smart always pays off. Like Double D on Ed, Edd & Eddy. He gets picked on for being nerdy the whole show until the end when he has some kind of brilliant plan that works out. Parents should talk to their kids and make sure they know that just because they see it on TV doesn't mean it's "right."

They are just enforcing stereotypes of what modern society assumes school to be like. Remember the 80's "brat pack" movies where everyone in high school was forced into one mold or another? There was the class slut, the pretty ugly girl, the over sexed nerds, the mean jocks, and so on. Nowadays you can add the suicidal emo kids, the wiggers, and the drama club geeks^_^
However, the redeeming quality of this type of "entertainment" is that usually the mean jocks get what's coming to them, and the nerds triumph and the pretty ugly girl finds out she's actually quite hot--usually at the expense of her individuality by submitting to a "makeover" at the hands of the class slut/b*tch.

Wake up, that's the agenda. Mass media USA want nothing but cool idiots they can manage thru TV, internet and print media. The best thing to do is be yourself, do not take advice from anybody other than your parents and family, and use your own ideas, do not become a "media sheep."
Forget about "fashion," it will never feed you.
Read a lot and educate yourself with truth, not popular media.

No, I do not think it is right that being smart is stupid and uncool. It is really sad that the world is turning out this way though.....

I believe it's the media's ideal to have everyone who's pretty and popular to be liked, and have best friends. I believe the media wants to depict that one special person as the most important.
I also believe it's corruption and pollution to have children who love to learn, and are mature/smart beyond their age to be considered lower, or less of a person for being interested in extra curricular activities that further extend knowledge. Children who are pretty, popular, and have all the 'latest' things, are spoiled brats.
We need more teens such as myself and my friends who read, write, and study outside of school to get a better education, and extend their knowledge beyond their years.
It's the media's ideal, society follows the media's ideals. Skinny women, pretty girls, popularity in first rank. Men need to be buff, and tan. People who are interested in an education, have glasses and braces and never have friends.
It's how the media would like it - everythings easy going, your popular, pretty, and have everything you need instead of having to work at it and overachieve.
Media = pollution, and propoganda.

when I was young & going to school the smartt guys were always considered to be nirds, the smart gals were considered the ones to date so what our children are seeing on tv, today is nothing new. It is up to parents to watch what our child sees. If WE find the show offensive then WE turn it off.

There has always been shows on TV that upset one person or another, in one way or another. Just do what I do, and I'm sure milions of other parents do, and monitor what your children watch. No more need to worry. But for an answer to your question; Yea, it's wrong. But what to do? Blessed be

Yes, I do think that it is wrong to show education and intelligence as uncool, which is why my kids do not watch those types of shows. I monitor what they watch!
