If you mean by success, a woman who works outside the home? I would say that a woman can be a good wife if she is successful in her career. The key to being a good wife is about the relationship with her husband, that doesn't preclude a job, or other relationships in her life. Some men prefer a woman to be in the home and taking care of the house and children. If that is something you both want and agree upon before marriage, I see that as success also. Whatever you do, don't ask a woman to give up the things she enjoys doing, she may resent you for it and that would make one unhappy wife.

That all depends on the woman and how they view this. As long as their job and success does not take over their whole life and they keep their priorities straight and put their families and marriage ahead of it then it will be great. If not the marriage will not be good and they will not be the wife they should be.

no, what makes a bad wife is a bad husband who doesn't want his wife to be successful- if a man is successful does that make him a good husband? Whose criteria are you using, think for yourself!

Only if they fail at balancing their family and professional life. The only successful women I know that made bad wives were ones who didn't put their family first.
