To make sure that in fact, you do (or do not) have an internet connection go to Start > Run type cmd and press enter at the prompt type in ipconfig and hit enter. You should see something like this

Connection Specific DNS Suffix: myhome.westell.com (yours will be something else)
IP Address: XXX.XXX.X.X
Subnet Mask: XXX.XXX.XXX.X
Default Gateway: XXX.XXX.X.X

Where all the X's are numbers, if you have all zeros, then you do not have an active connection. There are two possibilities, follow the instructions for your router and reset it, then set it up again. If that doesn't work, after you've set up the router again, restart the computer that is connected to it. If you can get the PC connected to it up online then you should be able to configure the wireless connection with ease.

Unplug the modem AND the router for 30 seconds, plug them both in, then restart the comps. That should work. We just had the same problem when we installed a router 3 days ago.

Open an internet explorer windows and type in the IP address of the router. If you're unsure of this, you can check it in DOS by using the command IPCONFIG, it would be your default gateway address. Once in the router's configuration information, check all of the settings for your Internet Port.... Each router is slightly different, just look around at all of the settings.

some ADSL modems don't allow sharing the internet connection. You may need to call and find out if your modem is one of them. Win xp with sp2 has an icon to set up a wireless network in the control panel called wireless network set up wizard....try that too
