I think it's more difficult to be female. In addition to the natural but painful things we experience such as childbirth, periods, menopause, and hormonal changes, we also have the shorter end of the stick in many cases. Women are still discriminated against and still don't receive equal pay to men. There is a notable gender wage gap where women only make 70 cents to every dollar a man makes. Just look at the difference in pay of men and women professional athletes. Some jobs won't even hire you if you're a woman or will pass you up for promotions. Also, there are many single parents who are women who have no help from the children's father and have to try to fill in both roles.

Personally, being female for me has always been a very enjoyable life. PMS? Never really an issue. Period? Just went on the Pill and they became mini-periods. Childbirth? Never had any yet. I've always had a boyfriend or husband that I dearly loved in my life to be grateful for and coming from a large family of women proved one thing to me: they like to complain. So I have always found myself with more male than female friends because men are cool. I like them and feel they have a hard time within society itself too, because of what is expected of them. Even in this site, men are bashed more than women, in my opinion. So I'll cast my vote for the men.

I think its more difficult to be a female because there are certain things you can't do that a male can. For example, its okay for a male to have many sexual partners but its not okay for a female. There are many double standards like that placed on females.

It is more difficult for us girls, no questions asked. We have the periods. We have the pregnancy and birth. We have to shave our legs. We have the cramps, bloating, and moodswings, and hot flashes. We even have it worse, when we need to get fixed(tubes tied). You guys have it way too easy. You just roll right through life without all these difficulties us women go through.
