Things look grim for the Blazers and Sonics.

Perhaps this is an excellent opportunity for the NHL to seize the market?

Well I live in Seattle, and the Sonics front office has been in sad shape for many years. Wally Walker has got to be the biggest idiot to ever hold a pro sports executive job. For every good player he has brought in, he brings in 4 losers. (And then there's Jim McIlvaine . . . hoo boy!) As long as WW's in charge, the team is going to struggle (on the court AND off).

Putting the Blazers up for sale is an unfortunate thing. Portland has been plagued by talented but underachieving players that are difficult to coach the last few years. It's a shame because Portland has great fans and had been treated with a great team for decades. This team deterioration could be deadly in such a small sports market as fans lose faith.

But I'm a huge hockey fan, too. And if it comes down to bringing the NHL to the US northwest, do it do it do it! The Pittsburgh Penguins very nearly came out here till Mario bought them.

LOL, the NHL. Yea they're not doing to well. Seattle has it better off though. At least they have a duo in Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. Portland should just quit the NBA or something.

not as bad as the golden state warriors.. 12 years without a playoff run (longest current streak in the nba)

it's starting to look on the up and up ever since chris mullin took over.. and baron davis came to the team.. we have a young squad too.. we'll see what happens in 07
