wow, so baiscly , after her period.......she only has 1 day to get pregnat ,after that its just a dead egg waiting to be flushed out ( period) , i never knew that....

let me reanalyze this....

a women has her period for about example 7-10 days...after the period there isnt a egg there, it takes a few days for it to be released (maybe 10 days after her 1st period date, then a egg is dropped (the 24 hr window) after 24 hrs, its dead waiting for the period again

#1 Yes you are right
#2 The egg is released at a certain time of the month and depending on where the egg is has better chances of getting fertilzed
#3 I would say four to six weeks, before that time it is dangerous because and air bubble can get caught in your bloodstream and kill you. I might not be describing it quite right. I'm not sure about someone who has had a cesearean it might be different.

1. When a woman has a period it flushes out the endometrium, which is the lining of the uterus that would nourish the fertilized egg (if it was fertilized). When the egg is not fertilized, the endometrium just washes out - aka, your period.

2. Women ovulate only once per cycle and the egg lives for only about 24 hours. If she has sex a week before she ovulates, the sperm won't live long enough to fertilize the egg. There are other factors like the fluid that the cervix produces (the 'discharge' that women have is actually fluid that controls a woman's fertility. Slick, eggwhite like fluid is very, very fertile and sticky, thick, or creamy fluid is not so fertile. Each different type of fluid has its own PH which either feeds sperm or kills it. So it's not JUST about the egg!) If a woman is not at a fertile time in her cycle (after she ovulates, she is no longer fertile) and has sex, there is no 'living' egg to fertilize anymore. The egg doesn't just wait around for sperm, it has its own lifespan. I hope that makes sense.

Women who are trying to conceive (like me) can chart our fertility signs to know exactly when the best time to have sex is, or if you're trying to avoid pregnancy, when to *not* have sex, or when to use protection. This is that 'window' you're talking about.

3. Doctors recommend waiting at least six weeks. Most women do not wait that long. The concern is that after the placenta comes out it basically leaves a huge wound on the inside of the uterus. Sex or inserting things into the vagina can introduce bacteria, which if they find their way up to the uterus will find a nice, warm, moist home in which to multiply. Usually women should wait until they are done bleeding (lochia is what it is called) after the birth. Some women have episiotomies or stitches or other trauma to their vulvas or vaginas that make sex unappealing or they are just simply not hormonally ready for sex right away. Some women are. Trust her to let you know what is right for her!

When the new egg is there there the cervix has to be open to allow the sperm in when the cervix is open you are ovulating. So there is an exact science to getting pregnanct it is not easy when you want it. But when you don't want to get pregnant it is to easy. Go to www.babycentre.com and click on their ovulation calculator. It is best to wait 6 weeks after you have the baby to have sex but some people will do it earlier. It just depends on how you feel and whether or not you had to have stitches.

the egg is way up high and until one "drops" a woman cannot get pregnant...so while the eggs are aways in the woman, they are not always in the right spot

after birth she can have sex after 1-2 weeks, BUT shouldnt get pregnant again for 2 years (ideally with world overpopulation as it is, she shouldnt get pregnant again at all)
