The online sites will not give you an accurate value of your home. If you want that, you will need an appraiser. Or, as some of the other posters have said, a Realtor could give you an idea of what similar homes in your area are listed/recently sold for.

Zillow shows the house that I own with the value of the foreclosure that the previous owner had. Bank of America's real estate section shows the same house as being 30 years older than it actually is. Neither website has anything to do with current market conditions, only loan info. My neighbor paid 1/2 in cash and financed the other 1/2 of her house. Sure enough, Zillow shows the $$$ for the financed amount.

I went to homefindinginfo.com this morning to check it out. You have to fill out a form, and they supposedly e-mail you a report. It has been over 4 hours, and I have not heard anything. I will keep checking to see if this has any merit.

Three full days have passed since I submitted my info to homefindinginfo.com and I still have not heard from them.

Housevalues.com - but here's what happens - you put in your info they tell you not enough info on line to give results so they will then have a realtor contact you - best advise - call a local realtor and ask for a complimentary market analysis - they will know the area and give better more current information

Good Luck and God Bless

Some states and counties have a web site for the country assessor. They might have a public data base that will tell you how much homes in your area sold for. It will have a listing by address by address just type yours in should give you about 10-20 addresses around you.

Why online? Be sneaky and have some fun with it. Tell a realtor you might be interested in selling and have him give you an estimate. He'll also be able to give you some pointers on how to increase the value.

Zillow.com is not a very accurate source. It's better to get a free valuation from a source that uses humans to research previous sold homes in your neighborhood.

You can get an accurate home valuation here (free, no catch): http://www.homefindinginfo.com
