My messenger states that my connection is via dial up, which is was, but is now dsl. How and where do I change

I used to use dial up. I don't get the option within messenger to change the connection from dial up to dsl. There has to be a way and I don't see anything within my computer specs that I can change there. Please help.

Thanks Paultech. I don't have Internet Explorer. I use Verizon online, and it appears my computer cannot get into the server, although I can get my mail..cant play games or use my messenger. There is nothing under connections in my network options.

open up internet explorer, got tools/internet options, connection and delete anything in teh box below this will remove all dialup settings.
and then check lan settings and make sure there is a tick in the first box.
