They didn't have a catagoy for my question but I guess family will do. If I don't go to work soon my husband will leave because of financial stress. We used to live in California where he was making almost $30.00 and hour. We live in Oregon now for a better quaility of life but he's only making $10.03 an hour and he doesn't like his job. I'm finding out that money is the only thing that will make him HAPPY. I have a 7 year old to care for and it would be nice to be able to just buy him out of the house we bought together so he could go his merry way but I don't have" family with money." So whats a hard working woman to do anyway?
L from Oregon

To add to my posting I have Two certificates in Phlebotomy (drawing blood in a lab) but I don't have recent experience and you can't get recent experience. If no one will hire me.My "additude" is just frustration.

The most important thing to remember about job searches is that you should use a combination of methods regardless of your location.

Networking - Register at your local Unemployment Office (you don't need to be on unemployment to register for their assistance). They often will have networking groups on a regular basis. They also are a good source for the jobs that never show up in the paper or online.

Check your local paper -- In many cases the paper's classified are now online.

Search Smart Online -- If you don't have a lot of time, spend most of your time at sites that aggregate the job feeds from several job search engines. Prominently these include indeed.com and thingamajob.com.

Organization -- I use a free online application that allows you to track your ads, jobs you apply for, send or print mail merged correspondence, and track your job search history. This site is jobsearchlog.com and it is very useful to use when you are on a job hunt.

Good Luck,

Karen

I don't think money is the only thing that will make him happy, he took a 20 dollar an hour paycut. As for you start applying at jobs you are qualified for and get rid of the attitude and I am sure someone will hire you. Or you could move back to California.

Staying for that reason is stupid. If you need out, get out. People do it every day, and they survive. Besides, if money is the only thing that will make him happy, he'll find a way to make plenty, and his child support will soar!!!

Well, it depends on what you're good at, and what you're certified to do (nobody will hire you to be an executive or something similar if you didn't graduate from college (hypotetically speaking)).
