70 thousand million? I totally agree. Instead of going to Iraq, this money would be much better spent in our education system. 70 thousand million?!?! LOL

The war in iraq is not taking away its oil, the government wants to control the oil supply to other nations in case of war. By taking away oil is same as declaring war at every nation in this world. US is not that dumb, and all Bush wants is to raise the oil price and control Iraq. The war on oil still justify. Controlling Iraq and all oil nations is the first move to conquer the whole world.

One of the main targets of the insurgency is the disruption of oil production. Oil production in Iraq is pratically non-existent because of this.
One has to wonder if the new Iraq government doesn't quietly support this problem, in that, it would help reduce American dollars towards the cost of doing war. Even our Democratic friends in Iraq recognize the value of the US pumping hard earned American tax dollars into their country, rather than Iraq having to pay for it's own war.

Good question that should be answered by Bush, where is the oil going? He invaded the country for this particular reason, we all know it's been sucked away for years, but where to? I think to his private oil fields in Texas!! this way when he is out of office, he will have a stack of money to sleep on...never work again.

There needs to be a gas tax. Thrifty heads will cut down on it, those who use way too much of it will make up the deficit, and the taxes could fund the war effort in name of itself.

Because we don't get Iraq's oil. That's why this whole war-for-oil arguement is stupid.
