Put the shirt in the freezer for an hour or two, then take it out and immediately apply laundry detergent or a thick laundry pre-treatment (some kind of soap that's hard to wash off your hands) to the gum and rub it in. Let it set a few minutes and then use a dullish knife and carefully scrape the gum off.

Better than ice, fold the shirt with the gum on top, place it in a freezer bag and put it in the freezer for a while (I would think for a couple of hours or so) it should life right off.
