We have been married for 6 and a half years and are having problems conceiving our second child (first was no problem). I have had all my tests done, and they are normal. What about him?

I had went through the same thing as you! Convincing was HARD! I had to actually sit him down and say "You don't realize that this is all u have to do, I basically have the rest of this baby stuff left up to me"
I'm the one actually running to the DOC every week trying to find out if I'm ovulating and such...What really makes it bad is that, from that particular DOC we never found out the results...So he really was humiliated and scared that there is really something wrong with him...We are still trying for a baby for 6 years now and im sure eventually if we find a new DOC that they will want to do another test on him again...I will probably put up another FIGHT again...LOL...I think ur husband will come to his senses and realize its the best thing for him, if hes really wanting another baby!! GOOD LUCK!!

It's really hard for men to accept that a problem conceiving could have to do with them. Much more than for women and their femininity, it is a big blow to a man's masculinity.

There's a test called FertilMarq that you can buy to do at home. A new test called Fertell is also available, though I'm not sure where you can buy it in the US.

FertilMarq only checks the concentration (number) of sperm cells. Fertell checks additional parameters - there's more information about the tests in the link below.

try and convince him its a game, and the higher the sperm count the more of a man he is, then take him out for pizza or hot sex afterwards...

Seriously, it might not be a problem biologically but emotionally, when you try to conceive a child for a long time sex can become work and its hard to have fun, the most important thing is to keep sex fun and exciting not just a boring exercise.

As a side I'm not sure this will apply since you already have one child, but he could be afraid of being classified as infertile. Inferitily is described as trying to concieve for more than a year without success.

Well lots of men a worried to test at a dr.'s office in case the results are bad, they could feel not manly or humiliated.Theres a test that you can buy at CVS to check sperm count only...Its like $30. Be aware though, it does not analize motility or quality.... But it could be a first step into testing and done in the privacy of you own home..

Try to explain to him since you did your testing that he needs to get checked out just in case. Its not a big deal many ppl get it done. Just talk to him I am sure he will come around if he does want another baby like you do. Good luck and baby dust!

You can actually buy a kit that will allow you to collect the sample at home and then YOU can bring it to the dr for him. Maybe he's just embarassed at having to do this in the office of the dr?

Maybe they will let you collect the sample at home and maybe you could help him produce it (if you know what I mean). That might convince him.

Tell him if he want's another kid then he should do the test. If that doesn't work then he's probably just stubborn. I hope this helps.

Tell FBI that your husband's penis is being used as an Al Qaida communication device. They will do that for you.
