Which god?
I though the world ended when the Aesir lost Ragnarok once every cycle, being reborn when Balder awakens and Loki is freed from his rock, and Freya's tears melt the ice.
That would make the answer, "quite frequently."
The Amerinds have a number of variations, but one has it that the answer is "seven."
If you go to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, it happens twice a day, three times with the Saturday matinee ... and don't forget the after-hours snacks at the Big Bang Burger Bar.

I obviously never got told those stories as a child apart from the Flood/Ark story. But then again if "God ended the world" we wouldn't be here! So any story about God ending the world means he failed! Unless he started all over from scratch again and again and that would mean God was not perfect because if he was he would have got it right in the first place wouldn't he?

destruction doesnt mean only the complete destruction to pieces in secs.the world is created and destroyed every sec.it is u who r not able to xperience that destruction and creation.like ur body in which millions of cells r dying and being reproduced every few secs. from the pre-existing ones but ur senses r not that much capable to feel that.but this doesnt mean that changes r not taking place in ur body.similarly the whole world's matter is changing its form from 1 form to the other, every sec.
change is the basic nessecity of life n nature n universe to evolve.

Once, until he does it again. God used water, which was the great flood and Noah's Ark was the only suriving thing and all the animals on board. The next one will be with fire.

Zero. No deities had anything to do with the formation of this - or any other - world, and none will have anything to do with its eventual demise.

Somewhere in the Bible, it DOES say ten times, but, right off hand, I can't quote you chapter and verse.
