Yes. Anything that makes you flex or strain those muscles in the abdomin can induce a hernia.

The cause is strain that pushes a part of the intestine through a muscle wall into the scrotum or other pocket.

It can be extremely painful and if you feel around you might feel a lump where the pain is.

Straining your muscles until they tear will result in a hernia. Once the muscle is torn, the intestine will buldge out in the area.

Hardly.But you never know.If you were pushing to hard...You usually get hernia if you push yourself to hard.For example if you try to lift too much weight in a gum.
