3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. The commentators for the England v. Paraguay game also mentioned something about points scored for and against a team. They used the Germany v. Costa Rica game and said that Costa Rica is -2 because they had 4 goals scored on them but then came back and scored 2 goals against Germany.
