If you know the exact virus name you can google it at http://www.google.com
Or try http://www.symantecs.com and http://www.mcafee.com to find out how you can get rid of them. They sometimes have updates on what the recent viruses are.
If you go directly to http://securityresponse.symantec.com/ then it will tell you the most recent viruses and how much of a risk they are.
