Poland as a country it self is very beautiful and has many places that you can visit(such as the concentration camps or Krakow and the moutains surrounding the area)etc.
The politics and the whole governing system here are scandoulous!Basically politicians are paided the greatest amount of money while doctors nurses and etc. aren't even paid 300$ a month
I can tell you much more about poland because i live here i have just finished high school here and am going to college
Ask me as many questions as you want just be specific and so will i .
So you or anyone else who has any questions just feel free to email me
You know i don't think in many directions when i write my first answer but i can agree with Shelia becuase she went by a totally different aspect than i did and is good(at least i can agree with it fully)!

I live in Poland. It is physically about the size of Oregon in the USA, but has ten times as many people. It has changed dramatically in the last 10-15 years, with the development of a capitalistic economy and a democratically elected government. Unfortunately, Poland is free to choose idiots as leaders, and did so in the last election. (Kinda reminds me of the USA)

People here struggle to find good paying jobs, and many young people go to Western countries to find work. The old struggle with Communist era pensions. There is of course an affluent class that spend the big $$$.

The country side is magnificent from one border to another, dotted with tiny plots of farm land. You still see horse pulled farm wagons, but they are fast being replaces by mechanized farming.

The people are very mono-cultured with 98% Catholic. There is very little diversity. Traditional events and festivities are frequent.

I'd say ... one of the most peculiar countries ever. Full of contrasts: many features you find annoying (government etc.), yet at the same time so love-able.
Very much loved by me for sure.
