I agree with above answers.
U should also consider getting spy sweeper latest version. This baby can destroy pretty much all da spyware and adaware. Also uninstall all da programs that u can live without. That can make life lot easier.
Hmmm, get away from downloading games. Its hard but you gotta do what u gotta do.
That's all for now, Hope it helps!

Hi,
You can try a number of things:
1. Have you tried scanning for spyware and viruses lately? You can find free software to do this from:
http://www.safer-networking.org
and:
http://www.grisoft.com.
2. Have you scanned your discs for problems and defragmented them recently? Under Windows XP, you can do this by:
1. click my computer.
2. right click on your hard disc, and select properties.
3. click tools, and select scan for errors. Then select defragment. Note that if you've never done this before, it could take a long time! You should do this about once a month.
4. Have you deleted temperary files? These are files that your computer creates sometimes, but forgets to delete when it doesn't need them anymore. To do this, click start, all programs, accessories, system tools, and disc cleanup. It will calculate how many extra files your computer has made that it doesn't need anymore, and give you a list. You can check all the items there. This will make more disc space, and thus your computer will run a little faster.
5. Have you turned off extra display goodies? Windows goes to a *lot* of trouble to make your computer look pretty. If you're running an older computer with low system specs, this can eat up a lot of your computer. To tell Windows not to bother with all the special effects, click start, settings, then control panel. Next, click system, then click advanced. Now, select performance settings. In that window, set it to "custom". Then, make sure all of the options are set to off.
6. If you still find your computer is running slow, try removing programs that you don't need. This will mean fewer icons for your computer to display, so it won't have to work as hard. To do this, click start, then settings, then control panel. Select ad/remove programs. In the list that comes up, look through it and remove programs that you know you don't really need anymore.
7. If it's *still* going too slowly, you should probably go get more memory (ram). It's sold at most computer stores, and can be installed at home by following instructions. A modern computer running Windows XP, to have good performance for gaming and other heavy use, should have at least 512 megs of ram. You can see how much ram your computer has by clicking start, settings, control panel, and system. It will show you how much ram you have and other system specs.

Yes, first clear out any unnecessary startup items by going to Start > Run, type msconfig, press enter and go to the startup tab, make sure to use a search engine to look up the entries on a startup items database to make sure that it is not responsible for proper functioning of the system.
The next thing to do is to perform some optimizations by getting TuneXP, http://www.driverheaven.net/dforce/default.php and it is related to the next step which is to head over to part 1 of windows xp optimizations, http://www.connectedinternet.co.uk/blog/_archives/2005/12/5/1434755.html and after that read part 2, http://xgatech.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1223&keywords=tweak and the next thing is to get BootVis which will cold boot any XP system in 20 to 30 seconds (or less depending on spec), http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=664
Then there are other minor things to do such as clean out junk files and registry entries using CCleaner, http://www.ccleaner.com/ and of course, running all the standard spyware cleaners and checking for viruses and all that jazz.

One good way to handle that is to get rid of any unnecessary programs on your computer. Too many unnecessary programs makes your computer run slow.
