What you are talking about is most likely called "grout haze". It is residue that is left over after the grout has been cleaned off of the tile. A mop & warm water should take care of this. You will want to make sure the water in your bucket stays fairly clean or you will be putting the grout back on the floor. You may have to mop more than once to get all of the gritty feeling away.

If, in fact, you have excessive visible grout left on your tile I agree with the other posters who said that the installers should come back and clean it for you. If this is not an option you can go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get either sulfamic or muratic acid and do an acid wash. Sulfamic acid is less volitale to work with.

Try washing it off with warm water and a bit of mild soap. If it doesn't come off, call the person who installed the floor and get them to come back and fix it. They shouldn't have left grout on the tile in the first place (it's best to clean the grout off while it is still fairly wet). If it wasn't installed by a professional, then you are stuck with the grout unless you scrape it off by hand.

The people who installed it shoud not have left it that way. However, that being said, I did my bathroom myself and had to claean up some of the excess grout. It has some lines bigger that others. Anyway, I used a small wire wheel grinder to get mine off. You have to go rally slow and be really carefu not to scratch the tile. If you go to Home Depot and tell them what you are up against, they probably have a product made to take it off.
