I think our soul is our life. A body is just machinery. It's a compilation of electrical and chemical impulses. I think our soul is our personality, and everything that makes us a person. It's the awareness and knowledge that separates us from animals. I think God made our soul and put it in a body. Once we are dead and gone our heart as well as our brain serve no purpose. They are hardware that our soul needs to live a life on earth. A soul probably isn't situated anywhere. It is our being and our presence. Though it is real it is physically intangible. I think the word heart is used as soul in the Bible and not as the cardiac muscle that we have in our physical body.

You are right the function of the heart is to pump blood though out the body to feed and regulate all functions of the body. The Bible says "the life is in the blood" and also "the soul is the blood" so therefore if you take these as truths then i guess you could say that God is in the heart the brain and the soul since it was He ( if you believe in creation) that put all of our parts down into his book as Solomon says. The belief in God starts in the brain but if it is a true faithful leap to live by his guidelines then it can be said that the faith lives in your heart as well as your soul!

I dunno how the heart came about as the metaphor, but god is in the heart (metaphor) rather than brain. The heart representing emotion, and other than logic reasoning. Is where god dwells. Faith, is believing, or being convinced regardless of how much or little evidence exists. Assuming something to be true without benefit of proof. T'aint criticism, or challeng to religion. Even Einstein admitted to believing in God. He's a whole lot smarter than me....

I would think that god would be in the mind because your heart is nothing without your brain. the thought of god and all other things man has come to has come from our brain. all feelings and pain and ideas use our brain not heart.

IF there is a soul, I believe that it should fulfill your entire body, it should be like a copy of the outlining of your body, but made out of light.
