yes someone to go with you may a big help as if it is a seroius issue they can be there for emotional support

Only if you MUST, for moral support, translation, or such as that.

If you bring someone else to talk with the lawyer, you are blowing your privilege of secrecy and confidentiality about your legal problem.

That might mean that even the lawyer can blab your secrets.
