An old friend, who has breast cancer , had one chemo treatment, and her hair fell out-how do I talk to her? I feel kind of at a loss for words, how to be real, and not hurt her feelings, asking her about her problem.

I hear you. Just talk to her. Ask her if she would like a wig, a scarf, a hat? Most hospitals have cancer support groups and a representative will, (if they have not already) come and talk to your friend about her needs. The nurses in Oncology are fantastic. (All nurses, really) If this is recent (Last couple of months or so) she is probably still reeling with the shock and pain of it. Sometimes it seems to be harder on the family and friends, because they do not know how to respond. Just visit and talk. Don't make her feel she has been abandoned. Bless you for reaching out and asking.
