Your question is kinda misleading, 50 cent is not ANY kind of singer, he a rapper - rappers don't and can't sing. Anothet point - Most rap is NOT real music, it's merely put together almost in video game fashion , by using someone elses sounds , samples and loops. Why these people take credit for calling what they do as music , is a mystery to me. ok now , y'all come flyin at me.

[I'm not sure what Yahoo Answers does with parental advisory lyrics, so I will censor the lyrics in this question.]

50 Cent probably isn't the greatest songwriter ever or anything, but I think one song that deserves credit is P*MP.

Rap music has a lot of songs celebrating p*mp culture, but P*MP is a bit deeper than that.

It is a song about a man who uses women, but is not a p*mp in the conventional sense of the word:
"No Cadillac, no perms, you can't see
That I'm a mother_______ P-*-M-P"

The character in the song has figured out that most people who make money do so with just one simple trick rather than through exceptional genius. They are basically lucky losers:
"Them trick ni*ga* in her ear saying they think about her".

"Trick" here meaning "one trick pony", one trick in success at money, and a second meaning also...one trick in attracting women...bling.

The character in the song figures that if he puts on a flash show also, he can also get the attention of the woman:
"She like my style, she like my smile, she like the way I talk
She from the country, think she like me cause I'm from New York "

The phrase "she from the country" is very telling...it brings up an image of someone who came to the city to get a slice of the action.

The character makes clear that he is not interested in the woman for love, or even for lust:
"I could care less how she perform when she in the bed"

His sole motivation is money, though not through being a conventional p&mp:
"Look baby this is simple, you can't see
You f_______ with me, you f_______ with a P-#-M-P"

Having got the attention of the girl, he puts his proposal to her, she gives him info, he gives her the "cut":
"Girl we could pop some champagne and we could have a ball....and tear up the mall"

So far he has shown the girl that sex can be passionless, pleasureless experience and that he neither loves her or lusts after her. He has shown her the good life that you get through money. Now comes his proposal:
"That other ni**a you be with ain't bout sh_t
I'm your friend, your father, and confidant"

He winds up the girl, pointing out that all she actually owns is worthless, and that HE knows how to make the money:
"I holla at a h@e til I got a b@tch confused
She got on Payless, me I got on gator shoes"

And he sends her on her way with a new attitude to dating:
"Catch a date, suck a d"ck, sh"""t, TRICK"

I think it's a very clever song. I have seen whole marriages based on things like this. It's unpleasant, but it's one of the things that does go on in life.

OK: I just want to answer a few points in other peoples' answers.
Firstly, he can sing...just look at one of his concerts...he chooses to rap, like a lot of performers because you can get more words, more concepts into 3 minutes if you do it that way. He has a lot to say, not all of which I agree with by the way, but he certainly has a unique take on life which is worth taking on board.

Secondly the technique of taking samples and loops and suchlike is "hip-hop", rap is syncopating rhymes to a beat, be it on a piece of completely original composition, or beats that come from other pieces of music. How legitimate this is as a form of artistry is a concept for a whole other question, but I feel it is important to clarify because there seems to be a lot of confusion between the two.

It is perfectly possible to have a hip-hop song with no rap in it whatsoever.

There is a big theme in 50 Cent material of people coming to New York to get success and instead ending up as victims. His opening montage is or was anyway a performer singing NY NY to pictures of glittering success blending into images of hospital ERs with people desparately clinging to life after gunshot wounds.

It is thoughtful stuff expressed forcefully.

I agree with some of what he says and disagree with other bits.

He is a good rapper, but I don't consider rap as singing.
I consider rap as more chanting.
