Maybe but the good thing about some people is they'll never give up trying, if there's a problem it can be fixed; it's human nature to carry on isn't it? OK so you can't save/help a whole nation but you can bloody well try and help one or two people.

Never give up hope and never give up trying to help people.

There is way too many people to help.
Rich states should focus on only a minority of people and make thier lives actually better instead of just about feeding all until they starve. Feeding a lttle to all is just making the problem worse as Africa's population is increasing.
The main reason though is because of exploitation by the rich, particulary the U.S.A.
Many countries under dictator ships are supported by the U.S government and oil companies.
Just find out about Nigeria and the tiny Equatorial Guinea for examples. Their main exports are oil to the U.S.
Guinea is under a dictatorship and i'm not sure about Nigeria.
Guinea's GDP is over $4,000 per person. but 60% of its population lives on just $1 a day. It has a population of 500,000 and was a forgotten dictatorship until 1979 when major reserves of oil were found. Since then u.s oil companies have poured billions into the region. The dictator says that his people are not in poverty but just 'live in a different way'

You know Dude I think it is beyond help. Not only from HIV/aids but famine, drought everything you can name.
Sending food and medication I believe only prolongs what is inevitable.
I hate being so bloody pessimistic but it has been going on for years and getting worse by the day. I have no answers either.
You know someone said where there is hope there is life. I cant with all the will in the World see the hope. It saddens me in the heart to have written that. I wish I hadn't. But......Even big money wont help!

Yes, probably. Like the UK NHS, pumping endless extra money into something won't help much unless sensible people are in charge. If Africans want help from the west they also have to understand that having corrupt regimes, female genital mutilation and infecting the childbearing population with HIV are no-nos. I don't want Africans to be in poverty but how much can other countries really help? For example Darfur - you send in UN peace-keeping troops and medical aid, but can you really ensure the people are helped, with the Janjaweed and authorities trying their best to prevent it.

This is what cracks me up, everybody is ready and willing to blame either the west in general or the US in particular for things that go on in these places but there is absolutly no attempt to have the people who are there and creating the situations in the first place take any of the blame. Is it our fault that they have populated themselves far past any ability for the land to provide for them which leads to environmental destruction?. Is it our fault that they're trying to give fresh water to hundreds of millions of people from aquifers only able to sustain tens of millions? . Does the term to many straws in the glass mean anything to anybody.
We have been providing who knows how many billions of aid and
millions of volunteers over the years and has it helped? no it's
only gotten worse, why? because you provide for a certain number of poeple and by the time you help them there's who knows how many millions more. It's a no win situation.

Africans have got a crap deal from G8 Governments. They are getting shafted bigstyle, but the situation could be turned around in a jiffy with a bit of Levelling. There are some good people in tne G8 Nations but they need to get their act together in order to push for change and a better world for everybody in it.
